Zen has exactly one rule: slow down.
He has been sitting in the same peaceful pose for so long that nobody is entirely sure whether he is meditating or simply refusing to get up.
Zen is the reminder that not everything needs to happen immediately. Sometimes the best thing you can do is breathe, grow, and stay exactly where you are for a little while.
Light
Bright indirect light. Near a window is perfect. Avoid direct afternoon sun.
Water
Mist 1–2 times per week, or soak for 20 minutes every 1–2 weeks. Shake off excess water.
Air
Good airflow is essential. Never leave sitting in standing water — they need to dry out between waterings.
Temperature
Happy between 50–90°F. Keep away from cold drafts and heating vents.
Fertilizer
Optional but helpful. Use bromeliad or air plant fertilizer once a month for faster growth and blooms.
Signs of happiness
Vibrant color, upright leaves, new growth from center. A happy air plant may even bloom!
